than a great answer.
Easy to miss if you're not looking for it.
I've sat on the other side of enough interviews to know
What separates a polite pass from a “yes.”
Most candidates think the interview is about proving
their experience and their knowledge.
That's only the tip of the iceberg.
By the time you're in the room, I already know you're
qualified.
What I'm really paying attention to is everything
happening around the answer.
- It's in how someone talks about their work.
↳ Can they name what they did, or does it disappear into "we"?
- It's in whether they connect the dots.
↳ Do they tell me how what they did solves my problem, or do I have to guess?
- It's in the questions they ask.
↳ Questions with these always stand out: research-based, real curiosity, shows you were listening.
You can't just get all this from a resume.
But you can see it in the interview.
And that can be the gap between just being qualified and getting hired.
