I did it!

Got a great full-time offer from the company I did 16 months of co-op (internship) with followed by 8 months of part-time while in school.

Got the initial offer last Friday and talked to them today, it was an honest and open conversation where I asked for more base salary, and I got the new offer that was exactly what I asked for by the end of the day.

I was afraid I would be lowballed but I ended up getting exactly what I want by sticking with them throughout the latter half of my schooling and I am glad they respected the time and effort I put in.

Just wanted to let everyone know as I have learned a lot from experienced people here and although I had different experiences and approaches to landing a full-time offer, I did it!

What next? Any advice related to stock options or any other things to look into, and get done before I convert to full-time in September is appreciated.

Sarah:

Congratulations!!! So happy for you!

Next steps: Become familiar with the company. Try to find an org chart online and find out who the leaders are. If you can figure out the leader in your organization try to see if you can find any industry YouTube videos or interviews they have done to give you a sense of their leadership style and what they value. Then try to align your goals with theirs.

Once you start your job, you will have access to the network which will allow you to do more research on their stock match and other offerings.

Again so happy for you! I wish you all the best in your new role!
