Entry-Level Tech Jobs That Pay Six-Figures (And Don’t Require Coding)

You Don't Need to Code to Work in Tech

Most tech companies need far more than engineers. They need people who can run projects, talk to customers, hire talent, write documentation, and figure out why users keep getting confused. Those needs have created real career paths for people coming from operations, writing, sales, recruiting, and customer service.

Six roles worth knowing:

IT Project Coordinator — Keeps tech projects on track: timelines, meetings, status updates, and team alignment. Less about technical depth, more about reliability and follow-through. Can grow into project manager or technical program manager roles, which regularly pay six figures.

Sales Engineer — Sits between the sales team and the product. Runs demos, answers technical questions, and helps customers understand whether a solution actually fits their problem. Overlaps with the solutions architect's work. High pay, often before senior levels. Good fit for people from sales, account management, or IT.

UX Researcher — Studies how real people use products: interviews, usability tests, surveys, behavioral observation. Turns that into actionable recommendations for product and design teams. Strong fit for backgrounds in psychology, education, or market research. Pay climbs with specialization.

Technical Recruiter — Finds and evaluates candidates for technical roles in competitive hiring markets. The best ones understand what engineers and technical roles actually involve, not just the job titles. Commission structures can push compensation well above six figures.

IT Support Specialist — Entry point into understanding how technology actually works inside organizations. Starts lower on pay, but specializing in cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise systems can turn it into a six-figure track. Practical exposure compounds quickly.

Technical Writer — Creates documentation, guides, API references, and onboarding materials. Doesn't usually require coding, though familiarity with Markdown or XML helps. Underrated and direct path in for strong writers. Experienced writers can clear six figures.

None of these are shortcuts. You still have to learn the industry and show you can contribute. But if coding isn't your thing, these six roles are a legitimate way in.
