TikTok is turning vacation daydreams into instant bookings. The platform has introduced a new integration with Booking.com that allows users to choose check-in and check-out dates and reserve hotel rooms without leaving the app.
Each participating hotel has its own landing page featuring rates, amenities, reviews, nearby attractions, and related TikTok videos. Travelers can also tag hotels in their own videos, creating a loop of inspiration and booking opportunities.
Alongside this feature, TikTok is rolling out its TikTok Go creator monetization program in the US. The initiative lets local businesses—including hotels—offer commissions or vouchers to influencers who promote their services. Eligible creators must be 18 or older, have at least 1,000 followers, and maintain an account in good standing.
Through TikTok Go, creators can set their location and browse paid promotion opportunities from hotels, restaurants, and other venues. They earn commissions when their posts drive sales. While hotel bookings may bring in higher-value commissions than everyday TikTok Shop items like clothing or snacks, the frequency of those sales may be lower.
TikTok has been steadily expanding its e-commerce tools, from TikTok Shop to Yelp-style discovery products for local businesses. Travel bookings are a natural extension: the app has already enabled ticket sales for concerts and movies through partners like Ticketmaster and Fandango.
The company has also built a “Places” tab for discovering destinations and activities, complete with reviews and achievement badges for “local explorers.” Travel creator Amanda Dishman of Salty Vagabonds welcomed the new program, noting that TikTok has “slashed the barrier to entry” for influencers looking to earn commissions.
A TikTok spokesperson confirmed the hotel booking test in the US and the recent expansion of TikTok Go. Booking.com declined to comment.
With Gen Z increasingly turning to TikTok as a search and travel-planning tool, the move blends entertainment, discovery, and commerce—right in the same feed where users find their next dream destination.
