The top 10 jobs offering remote, part-time work in 2025, says new report

While fewer Americans are launching side hustles compared to recent years, the demand for part-time jobs offering remote work and flexible schedules remains strong. According to a recent FlexJobs survey, the top industries for remote, part-time roles are education and training, medical and health, and project management.

Toni Frana, a career expert at FlexJobs, highlights the value of part-time roles for skill-building and career exploration. “A part-time job lets you develop new skills or test a new field without committing to a full-time position,” she explains.

Financial incentives also drive interest in part-time work. A March FlexJobs report found that 61% of workers take on side gigs to boost their primary income. “There are still plenty of opportunities for remote, part-time work, which is great for those seeking flexibility,” Frana notes.

FlexJobs reviewed job listings from over 60,000 companies between January and July, identifying roles requiring 30-35 hours or less per week that can be performed remotely from anywhere with an internet connection. The top 10 job titles with the most remote, part-time postings this year are:

  • Licensed Therapist
  • Career Consultant
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Graphic Designer
  • Translator
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Customer Service Representative
  • Copywriter
  • Video Editor
  • Marketing Specialist

Fields like mental health, project management, and administrative roles saw significant growth, with a 27% increase in remote, part-time job postings compared to last year. Frana attributes the rise in remote therapy and nursing roles to the expansion of telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic, which allows professionals to deliver high-quality care remotely.

Creative, computer-based roles like copywriting and graphic design are also well-suited for part-time, remote work. “These jobs can be done on a freelance, contract, or employee basis, depending on the employer’s needs,” Frana says.

Beyond flexibility and supplemental income, part-time remote roles offer additional benefits. For those eyeing a career change, a part-time position in a new field can serve as a low-risk entry point. These roles also help full-time workers pay off debt, build savings, or fund major purchases.

Most of these jobs offer flexible schedules, but Frana advises full-time workers to assess their existing commitments before taking on a side gig. “You’re adding this to your life alongside your full-time job and other responsibilities,” she says. “While you can work on your own time, you need to ensure you have that time available.”
