From TikTok to ESPN, Katie Feeney is the future of sports media Chasing content from the Rose Bowl to the red carpet with a 22-year-old influencer and rising media star.

Katie Feeney is a 22-year-old who's basically killing it in sports media right now. Picture this: she's at the ESPYs, phone in hand, trying to film content for her millions of followers while running on barely any sleep. She just flew in from the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta and was heading to Indianapolis for the WNBA All-Star Game the next morning. Talk about a crazy schedule!

What's cool about Katie is how she got her start. She grew up in Maryland and was always comfortable in front of the camera (unlike her brothers, who wanted nothing to do with it). She first got attention on Musical.ly doing dance videos, but really blew up during the pandemic with these random daily videos - everything from growing sea monkeys to unboxing tiny stuff like mini lint rollers. People made fun of her at first, calling it "cringy," but guess who's laughing now? By 18, she'd already made a million dollars!

Her career path has been super intentional. While at Penn State, she worked with the football team's social media, got hired by the Washington Commanders as a social correspondent, and started getting invited to huge events like the Super Bowl (she's been to the last four!). Now she's graduated with a digital journalism degree and just landed a gig with ESPN across their social channels and even on TV.

What makes her so popular? She's relatable. When she met Tom Brady, she just said "You're a legend" with this genuine awe, and that video got over 25 million views. She lets her followers feel like they're right there with her, not just watching the action but seeing her reaction to it too.

Katie's part of this bigger shift in sports media where leagues and brands are realizing creators like her can reach fans directly. She's worked with huge sponsors like Gatorade, Google, and YouTube, sometimes getting six-figure deals! Even ESPN's head of content told her they want to "put her on the rocket ship."

And she's smart about her brand, too. She calls herself "like the Disney Channel" - super brand-safe, no politics, no swearing. She's built trust with all these leagues, which is why everyone wants to work with her.

After wrapping up at the ESPYs, she wasn't done, though. As she gathered her microphones, she said, "I'm going to go get some more content." That's just how she rolls - always creating, always posting, always on to the next thing. Pretty impressive for someone who used to get made fun of for posting "cringy" dance videos, right?
