A 7-Eleven employee is dead just days after a physical altercation with a fellow employee left her in critical condition.
The brother of Jessica McLaughlin announced on GoFundMe that they made the decision to take her off life support six days after she was admitted to the hospital on June 24 following a fight with her co-worker.
Sean McLaughlin alleged that his sister was "violently and senselessly attacked" by a co-worker who "held her down, sat on top of her, and didn’t let her breathe."
He further alleged that the co-worker then fled the scene and deleted the security video of the incident as McLaughlin's other co-workers performed CPR.
The suspect's name and identity are still unknown, but a spokesperson for 7-Eleven said the individual is an employee at the store and has been fired by the company.
“Our hearts are with those impacted during this difficult time,” the company said in a statement.

An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department confirms that a fight did occur on the date in question, but says that no names are being released at this time.
"Officers took a felony battery report after the female victim and female suspect were involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation," Officer Norma Eisenman tells PEOPLE.
She went on to say: "The victim was left unconscious and in critical condition."
The LAPD also confirmed this is being treated as a homicide investigation, though no arrests have been made yet.
McLaughlin passed away surrounded by her parents, boyfriend, two brothers, sister and stepfather, said Sean.
The family had been "praying for a miracle," Sean said, but the damage from the lack of oxygen had left his sister brain dead.
"After getting second opinions and doing everything we could, we have to make the impossible decision to let her go," Sean said.
The family is now hoping to raise enough money to pay for McLaughlin's funeral costs.
"We want to give her a beautiful service — something that honors who she was and how deeply she was loved," Sean said.
