Once a world champion speed skater, now Elise Christie seems to have mastered OnlyFans.
The Scottish-born athlete who represented Great Britain, retired in December of 2021 and was in “a very dark place,” according to The Nottingham Post.
Christie said: “When I stopped skating I was in a pretty dark place. I had lost my house and was working three jobs at the time. One of my jobs was at the airport and that was three in the morning until about 10 in the morning and then I would go straight to the other one, and the days that I didn’t have those I had another as a waitress. I felt like, how did I go from being a world champion to just having nothing?”
But when the 33-year-old joined OnlyFans, she says her life completely changed for the better.
“A lot of people just use it to engage with me and my life, learn more about it and what went on, and question me about sport and fitness. I use it as engagement for fans that have been with me for a long time,” she said.
Christie won 10 European gold medals, including two overall European titles in 2015 and 2016. She won the worlds in 2017 in the 1000m and 1500m events, along with the overall gold, marking her as the first British woman and first European woman to achieve such a feat.
But once she was out of the sport she struggled. Until OnlyFans, which she indicated shouldn’t just be thought of for adult content.
“Once you learn it and understand it, you are using it in the way that you are comfortable with, you’re not forced into things or doing things you don’t want to do, you can use it in the way you want to use it. I have had a lot of negativity as well, but at the end of the day, it kind of saved my life at one point as I had nothing.”
