Amazon is hiring dozens for Prime Video as it does battle in the streaming wars. Here's what each job pays, including one that pays up to $350,000.

Amazon's Prime Video is a frontrunner in the streaming wars, where only a few players will likely survive.

Prime Video has consistently ranked high in terms of monthly view time, a crucial metric for advertisers, after YouTube and Netflix and neck and neck with Disney's Hulu, according to Nielsen.

Amazon revealed recently that it reaches more than 200 million monthly viewers on the service, which it sees as a key way to keep people tethered to its $139-a-year Prime subscription.

And an estimated 80% of viewers now see ads on the service, which Amazon started adding at the beginning of the year to bolster its $47-billion advertising business. (That percentage is high because, unlike some of its rivals, Prime Video is showing ads to everyone by default unless they pay $3 a month for ad-free viewing.)

While the rest of Hollywood cut spending on entertainment content amid the labor strikes and the drive for streaming profits, Amazon shelled out 14% more in 2023, spending $18.9 billion on music and video, according to its annual report.

Amazon hasn't been immune to the retrenchment in Hollywood; it laid off hundreds in its entertainment arm in January as it reduced spending across the board.

But the company is still hiring in various areas of the entertainment business as it builds out Prime Video with mainstream fare like "The Boys" and "Reacher" and live sports programming like NFL's "Thursday Night Football."

Amazon recently listed 255 job openings in Prime Video on its site, 100 of them in the US, from program managers to software developers.

Many of the roles are in software and tech as it works to get viewers to watch more videos, carry out its ad strategy, and help sell third-party video. It's also seeking product managers and marketers to plan, track, and promote product launches.

Here's a selection of Amazon salaries being offered, by division and job title. These salaries represent annual base pay, which Amazon says varies based on several factors including the cost of labor by geographic market. A senior digital program manager's pay can range from $95,500 to $245,000, for example. Base pay also doesn't include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation that could be provided, along with other benefits.
