America's Emerging Luxury Cities, Ranked



 According to Architectural Digest, there are certain parts of the US — luxury cities, they're called — that are particularly attractive to those who enjoy the finer things in life. To find out where in the country luxury hotspots are emerging, AD compared 115 cities based on activities, properties, dining, annual income, diversity, and safety, then ranked them according to score.


Key Findings:

  • America's top three rising luxury cities are all found in California: IrvineCarlsbad, and Chula Vista.

  • When it comes to luxury activities and interests, Carlsbad, CaliforniaLewisville, Texas, and Tempe, Arizona, have the highest number per 100,000 residents.

  • Of the cities analyzed, California's Irvine and Carlsbad and Arizona's Scottsdale rank highest for properties worth more than $1 million.

  • Manchester, New HampshireLincoln, Nebraska, and Norman, Oklahoma, top the list for upscale eateries.

  • The emerging luxury cities with the highest percentage of households earning salaries of at least $150,000 are Carlsbad, CaliforniaFrisco, Texas, and Irvine, California.
