Tech workers are sick of the grind. Some are on the search for low-stress jobs.

Tech workers are expressing burnout and seeking low-stress job options, leading some to believe that the era of "rise-and-grind" in the industry may be coming to an end.

Many workers on anonymous job sites like Blind and Reddit are discussing their desire for a less stressful work environment, with some willing to accept lower pay in exchange for less pressure. Performance-improvement plans (PIPs) have become a common source of stress for tech workers, with some feeling that the plans eat away at their motivation.

The prevalence of PIPs, along with mass layoffs and concerns over AI, is contributing to a shift away from the high-pressure culture of Big Tech. In addition, younger workers are placing a higher value on work-life balance over pay, marking a shift in generational attitudes towards employment.
