The 7 fastest-growing STEM jobs that pay over $100,000

STEM careers are predicted to grow by 15% between 2021 and 2031, making them some of the highest-paying and fastest-growing job markets. The digital economy's growth is the main reason behind the STEM jobs' increase, with computer-related jobs predicted to dominate as the most in-demand occupation.

As more electronic data needs protection and safeguards from online breaches, the need for computer and STEM-related occupations will remain on the rise. According to a SmartAsset study, information security jobs currently top the list of fastest-growing STEM jobs for the second year in a row, while seven of the fastest-growing STEM jobs pay over $100,000, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

These jobs include physicists, computer and information research scientists, computer hardware engineers, computer network architects, actuaries, information security analysts, biochemists, and biophysicists.

STEM jobs account for 5.9% of the fastest-growing occupations in the United States, with mathematical and computer occupations projected to make up more than half of the nearly 800,000 projected STEM-related job increases by 2031.
