How working fully remote increases both the quality of my life and my productivity at work

Working remotely has been a great experience for me over the past 3 years. It has helped to increase both my productivity and my quality of life. I believe that to make remote work successful, there are certain requirements that need to be met. Flexibility and time savings are two of the main advantages of working remotely. I am able to do my grocery shopping at off-peak times, take care of personal errands, and go out with my dogs during the day. I also save time by not having to commute to the office and can easily join video conferences from my desk. It is important to have the self-discipline to stay away from distractions such as social media while working remotely. This helps to maintain focus and increase productivity.

Of course, I am aware that my thoughts are very much related to my individual role and of course, it might not work for everyone. As mentioned, my role is in a global team and I am the only team member based in Germany, so going to the office every day wouldn’t add anything to my productivity (I wouldn’t be able to catch up with any team member in person) but would just reduce productivity. If all or most of your team colleagues are based in one location, then the hybrid model (some days in the office, some days working from home) might have advantages.
