3 insights to work from home in a healthy way

I have been working from home for more than a year now, and instead of being a digital nomad, I have decided to make my home my favorite place to work. In the beginning, it was hard to get the hang of it since I worked for two years in offices and the routine was different. From my experience, I want to share with you 3 insights to work from home in a healthy way

What is the plan for the day?

Calendar

Every morning set specific goals for your day, many times we do everything on autopilot and do not even pay attention to the priorities in our work, this creates misunderstandings. First of all, talk to your team to establish the priorities of each task and schedule your day according to them, so at the end of the day, you can evaluate how you have done.

If you plan your day this way, and you can also add each task by blocks in your Google Calendar, you will probably never feel that it was an unproductive day as automatic reminders will guide you throughout the day.

What a nice environment

Make sure your work area is tidy, quiet, and comfortable. Many times we cannot control our environment and this is understandable, but if it is on your side to keep these three things as optimal as possible you will have a better concentration when working on your tasks.

If your environment is very noisy it would be best to use noise-canceling headphones or a cheaper alternative such as noise-reducing earplugs. Noise and clutter are two variables in our environment that can subtly ruin our workflow without us even realizing it.

Plastic Chair

If I had to give you just one piece of advice it would be this: get a good chair! Keep in mind that you probably spend 40 hours a week sitting down working from your computer. When you add up all that time over the years and decide to keep working with your plastic patio chair, you’ll probably soon find yourself with body aches and pains. Invest your money in buying a good chair with lumbar support, even if it costs more than your phone, it’s worth it! Your back will thank you.
