Should 10 hour work days and a 3 day weekend be normalized instead of a 9-5 M-F?

People can then get Fridays, Saturdays,s and Sundays off instead of having to work 5 days a week. The only downside is that people have to work a bit later. I don’t know about you guys but I would prefer that as opposed to a 9-5 M-F.

Sarah:

No. We should normalize the 32 hours workweek without a loss in living wages.

A 3 day weekend with no cut in hours would mean I drop my son off at daycare at 7:30 and start work at 8. Based on labor laws where I live I'm entitled to a half-hour unpaid lunch so it's actually 10.5 hours at work. Get off at 6:30 pick your son up at 7 and bedtime for a 2-year-old is 8. Even taking into account the extra weekend day 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night doing a hard transition would kill our time together.

I don't even want to get into the jump in cost by adding a meal to daycare and the extended school/ before after-school care needed.

I know not everyone is a parent but it's my perception of this terrible idea
