Gen X and baby boomers’ morning sex makes them better workers: Study The study suggests that starting the day with some intimacy in the early hours could boost productivity for the rest of the day.

Now that’s a workplace advantage.

Online pharmacy ZipHealth surveyed 1,000 full-time U.S. employees to explore how sex and ambition might be connected — and the results suggest that an intimate start to the day could lead to a more productive one.

According to the survey, workers who have sex in the morning before heading to the office reported the highest levels of productivity (71%), task completion (70%), focus (58%), and motivation (57%). And the perks don’t stop there: 51% of respondents who engage in morning sex said they received a raise in the past year, while nearly one in five (19%) reported receiving a promotion.

Who’s having morning sex?
Surprisingly, it isn’t younger adults driving the trend. Gen X and baby boomers topped the list — both at 20% — followed by millennials at 17% and Gen Z at 16%.

Profession-wise, marketing professionals claimed the top spot for morning intimacy, followed by workers in hospitality, manufacturing, and construction. Those in the entertainment industry came in fifth.

When looking at workplace hierarchy, the trend becomes even clearer. Executives and business owners are the most likely group to start their day in the bedroom (26%), trailed by senior managers at 23%. First-level managers came in at 20%, with mid- and entry-level staff tied at 16%.

Morning sex vs. morning coffee
More than a third of respondents (35%) said they feel a greater mood boost from morning intimacy than from their first cup of caffeine.

The study sums it up this way:

Among all times of day, morning intimacy consistently ranks highest for emotional and mental benefits. In a world fixated on productivity hacks, the answer might already be waiting in the bedroom. A little connection to start the day can leave you feeling happier, more confident — and maybe even more successful at work.
