If Amazon Ring staff want a promotion, they must now prove they’ve used AI

Amazon is intensifying its investment in Ring, its home security division, by prioritizing AI development and aiming to double its workforce.
The company plans to enhance Ring’s smart doorbells and cameras with advanced AI features, such as improved motion detection and personalized alerts, to stay competitive in the growing smart home market.
Amazon intends to expand Ring’s team from 1,500 to 3,000 employees over the next two years, with a focus on hiring AI specialists, engineers, and product developers.
This move aligns with Amazon’s broader strategy to integrate AI across its ecosystem, including Alexa and AWS, while addressing privacy concerns through transparent data practices.
