The fastest-growing roles for grads

The class of 2025 is coming into a tough job market.

Companies have retreated from plans to boost college-graduate hiring this spring. The federal government is contracting, and consulting firms—a potential first employer for many college grads—are also retrenching.

 It’s

hashtagGraduation Season! And grads want hashtagJOBS to go along with those degrees! But the market is super competitive, and over a third of Gen Z say they’re overwhelmed by how much AI has changed the job hunt.

But here's what I know for sure: You’ve got this.

So here are my top three tips for navigating this competitive market!
💡 Stay open - The industries that are hiring might not sound sexy–AT FIRST!
💡 Be adaptable - Last year, a large number of folks who got jobs got them from switching industries.
💡 AI for the Assist!!! -  Boning up on your AI literacy is a game-changer in the interview process and in the job search… Check out LinkedIn’s AI-assisted job Search Tool to help you narrow your search and apply more strategically.
One of the biggest mistakes I see? Thinking too narrowly about what counts as experience.

Your internship is great, but it’s not the only thing that belongs on your resume.

Think more broadly:
>Did you lead a class project that involved research, presentation, or collaboration? That’s experience.
>Have you volunteered, planned an event, managed social media for a student org, or worked a part-time job with customer service skills? That’s all experience, too.
“Seek the next impossible.”

That’s been my advice to new grads asking what to focus on for their career trajectory.

However, this requires more than just an idealistic approach. In doing so, you have to be hands-on and lean in. Books will only take you so far – you have to DO.

Go deep on AI, software engineering, model development, and anything else that fascinates you. If nothing immediately comes to mind, let your curiosity run wild and find what energizes you. Use that knowledge to unlock what tech for business means – and go make it.

Technology will evolve, but there’s nothing more sustainable than approaching your career with passion for what you do and the desire to keep learning more.
🎓 To the Class of 2025—Congratulations!

You’ve worked so hard to get here, and while this is a moment to celebrate, I know some of you might also be thinking… now what?

The job market is tough, but you’re tougher. 💪
