Meta wants your smile, squats, and small talk — and it's paying $50 an hour to scan them

Meta is developing "Project Warhol," a system to create digital avatars for its metaverse and smart glasses, according to internal documents obtained by Business Insider. The project aims to generate 3D avatars from user data, such as photos and videos, to enhance virtual and augmented reality experiences. Meta plans to integrate these avatars into its platforms, including Horizon Worlds and future AR glasses, targeting a 2025 launch. The initiative raises privacy concerns due to the extensive data collection required, though Meta claims it will prioritize user consent and security.
