International soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo continues to shatter records both on the field and online, amassing over one million YouTube subscribers in less than 90 minutes.
The 39-year-old Portuguese star launched his YouTube channel UR Cristiano on Wednesday, becoming the fastest-growing page to surpass one million subscribers in under 90 minutes. Already, Ronaldo has cemented himself as the world’s most popular athlete with over 600 million followers on Instagram and 32 million YouTube subscribers today.
In a post to his Instagram account (@cristiano), Ronaldo shared the moment he unveiled his official gold YouTube plaque, surrounded by his wife and kids. The caption reads, “A present for my family. Thank you to all the SUUUbscribers!”
While the channel may still be fresh, Ronaldo has already rolled out tons of content launching a total of 12 videos with a view count of 130.3 million.
Official figures of how much the soccer star has made are not known but according to a report by Influencer Marketing Hub, YouTubers make an average of $0.018 per ad view, meaning Ronaldo could have already earned an estimated USD 2.3 million.
Each video is about two minutes long, featuring previews or trailers for upcoming content with his wife and kids.
One trailer in particular is a Q&A video with his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, titled ‘Discover EVERYTHING about us. Who will win.’ This video alone has garnered nearly 30 million views.
The early success of Ronaldo’s channel has led some to compare his potential to that of Mr. Beast, currently the most popular YouTuber with over 330 million subscribers.
