Nadal, 36, won his 22nd Grand Slam title Sunday, two more than Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer for the most men’s singles major titles. He also won the Australian Open this year.
On a crisp backhand that clipped the line, Rafael Nadal claimed his 14th title at Roland Garros and his record-extending 22nd singles title. There was little doubt in this one from the second set on, but the 36-year-old’s drubbing of Casper Ruud, a Norwegian 13 years his junior, was a feat of precision and focus.
