Please stop posting jobs as remote when they are really not.

So applied for a job on LinkedIn that said it was remote only to land an interview where it was shared with me the first 4-5 months would be in office. Also, I would probably need to come into the office for meetings… in the world is that remote? The job is an hour and a half away from where I live and don’t even want to imagine the commute back and forth during the winter. I landed an in-person interview but I honestly think I want to withdraw at this point. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Many organizations are still developing their remote work from home strategy. I know some of these organizations that are saying they are fully remote right now, and they don't have plans to bring everyone back in right now.....but organizations don't pay money to keep buildings unoccupied. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that something is going to change. Either the remote work strategy is going to a blended solution, or everyone is coming back in.

I am merely saying that anyone looking for a fully remote job today is going to have to expect that some companies are going to be adjusting their remote work strategy. I would say that these things are going to be very much in flux until midway through next year.

Until then, anyone looking at a new job that is remote is going to have to ask a lot of questions about that remote job. Personally, if that organization has an office building in town, it's hard to take what a company says for granted.
