Some of the biggest nonexecutive salaries Facebook offers are in its core operations of engineering and marketing.

While Mark Zuckerberg probably has the lowest salary of anyone at the company, set at just $1 a year, he is still the wealthiest person within its walls. Or most walls anywhere — his net worth in 2021 ballooned to roughly $134 billion.

But even those at Facebook who are not Zuckerberg — or one of his very well-paid executives, like Sheryl Sandberg — consistently make well into the six figures. An in-house ad-agency director hired in the past year earns a salary of just over $330,000. An engineering director makes roughly $360,000.

How much exactly do other Facebook workers make?

It depends on the job, of course, but increasingly on where the worker is based, too. A data analyst in California, for example, makes $130,000 to $150,000 a year. One data analyst in Texas makes $128,000, and another $111,000. A software engineer in New York makes $160,000. One in Rhode Island and another in Texas make $118,000 a year.

Business Insider pulled the numbers from thousands of work-visa applications Facebook filed with the US government over the past year. Companies are required to disclose salary information, and the salaries must be the same level a US citizen would get paid if at if they were offered the same job.

The information has limitations. It covers only jobs for which Facebook is hiring from other countries. It's heavy on data scientists and software engineers and short on executives. No stock grants are included in the data, nor is experience and its influence on pay. Still, it gives solid insight into Facebook's pay scale.
