Samsung has confirmed all the rumors about its incoming Fold and Flip smartphones early on Thursday at the annual Unpacked launch event.

While this year looked very different for the launch due to the global pandemic, the Korean tech giant has a couple of aces up its sleeves when it comes to the innovative Galaxy Z series.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 will feature a camera that is hidden underneath the smartphone’s display. There is no hole punch or cut-out on the screen which will be welcomed by many people who like to watch movies and play games on their phones.

Outside of the new camera tech, the Galaxy Z Fold3 will once again feature two displays.

A 6.2-inch Super AMOLED cover screen at the front, and a 7.6-inch AMOLED display when folded out. Both screens also have a high resolution and 120Hz refresh rate which means that content will display smoothly.

Samsung has done a lot of work with ensuring durability too with Gorilla Glass Victus adding protection to the internal display and the inclusion of IPX8 water resistance. The layer structure has also been redesigned and is said to be 80 percent more durable than the previous model.

There are also loads of other inclusions that you’d expect from a super-premium device such as wireless charging, NFC, 5G, side button fingerprint sensor, and Wi-Fi 6. Samsung has also managed to fit Dolby Atmos stereo speakers into the foldable.

For the first time in the foldable series, S-Pen support has been added. A standard S-Pen Pro with BlueTooth will be available that allows for device switching between Samsung products. A Z Fold3 exclusive version is also slated for release too.

When it comes to the cameras, we have a 10MP cover camera on the front of Fold 3. Around the back sees a similar camera setup to the previous generation. A 12MP ultra-wide, 12MP wide, and 12MP tele with 2x zoom.
